The laundry room is adjacent to the kitchen and it was redesigned also. The original space had the washer and dryer, a utility tub and a closet which was deep enough to substantially restrict the feeling of space in the room. Removing the closet and putting in cabinets that match the kitchen, new solid surface counter tops and improving the lighting really make the space more inviting as well as more useful.

Here are some pictures of the finished kitchen. The kitchen looks so much larger with the original soffits removed and the new layout functions much better. The kitchen features maple cabinets with beautiful exotic granite counter tops. The hardwood floor replaces the original tile floor and matches the hardwood in the adjacent dining room and hallways. The ceramic tile backsplash with border accents and the new lighting really finish off the room.

Here are the beginning steps for the remodeling of this kitchen. The layout will be changed to include a nice sized island. The existing soffits will be removed and the ceramic tile floor will come out to prepare for the new hardwood floor. Click pictures to enlarge ↓↓
The kitchen demolition is now complete, the cabinets, counters and appliances are gone and the old soffits have been removed. The room looks so much bigger without the soffits.

The soffit removal revealed some extensive wiring that will have to be relocated.

Here is the kitchen with most of the electric and recessed lighting roughed-in. The loose wiring has been moved or rerouted. After some plumbing and heating have been modified, the patching can begin.
